Peanuts and Piano Mischief
With the rental of Ellen Zwillich's Peanuts Gallery (Snoopy Does the Samba) rights are given to include Peanuts characters in advertising and image work on stage. This fun filled one hour family program introduces nearly all of the keyboard musical instruments through great educational excerpts. The exploration begins with learning Schroeder has grown up and is interested in many different kinds of music, not just Beethoven. Snoopy puts a wrench into things by accidentally placing a bone in the piano, which then needs repair. Meanwhile Snoopy tries to correct the problem by wheeling substitute instruments in like a synthesizer, celeste, accordion and toy piano for Schroeder as the show must go on. None of the instruments are the correct sound needed for Rhapsody in Blue, which is Schroeder's wish to perform for everyone. It all gets resolved in the end.
